On September 5, Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-CA) joined the United Nations Foundation in Los Angeles for an event highlighting the importance of international family planning & reproductive health.
First of all – that is very cool – it is great to hear the voices of women Congressional leaders, especially those who represent many communities of color in the USA, speaking out on the importance of reproductive rights and health around the world.
Second of all, as the Congresswoman said in a Facebook post: “The evidence is clear: greater access to both family planning & skilled attendance at child birth saves mothers’ lives.” Well said!
Third, it is really amazing to see all the support Bass got on her FB page for speaking out on these issues.
Happy Tuesday from Women at the Center!
